Parent Liaison Committee

Welcome! The Parent Liaison Committee (PLC) is your link between home and school, and our priority is to enrich the connections between families, French International teachers and administrators.

The PLC coordinates, promotes, and attends monthly meetings and regular events that build and strengthen community ties.

PLC meetings provide a great place to connect with other parents and to hear the latest news from the division heads, school administration, and the Board.

The monthly meetings include updates from school administration and your division head, followed by a discussion, focused on a particular subject, that is pertinent to the age of your student and the time of year, led by the division head and PLC Coordinator. 

PLC meetings provide opportunities for open, informal Q&A. All questions and discussions are welcome!

Previous topics have included: “Transitioning to Middle School," “Internet Safety,” and “Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety" The PLC welcomes and encourages your input on topics of interest.

Parents and students feel more connected when they are informed. The PLC uses three sources to deliver information: 

  • Family News, delivered weekly

  • Direct emails from your room parent

  • Monthly division-specific PLC meetings

PLC meeting summaries and presentation content are available on the Parent Portal for our parent community.

Support

 

Parents find volunteering and being an active member of the French International community a rewarding and enriching experience.
The PLC offers several one-time or ongoing volunteer positions to fulfill your volunteer hours, including the following:

  • Teacher and Staff Appreciation

  • Back-to-School Picnic

  • Family Game Night

  • Carnival

  • Parents’ Night Out

  • Lost & Found

  • Room or Grade Parent

Additionally, some school-sponsored events and functions depend upon parent volunteers for their success, including the Annual Gala and Fête du Vin. 

Whether as a class volunteer, committee member, or in a leadership position, parents share their time and talents in ways that support the School and our students.

Get Involved!

Whether you are a long-time French International family or are brand new to French International, getting involved is the best way to foster a great school community for our children.
